Srinagar: On the occasion of the festival, Pakistan violated the ceasefire in different areas near the LOC on Friday. According to media reports, two jawans were martyred during this while 4 civilians were also killed. According to the Indian Army, firing from Pakistan took place at several places near Keran of Kupwara near LOC to Uri sector of Baramulla. The Indian Army is giving a resounding answer.
In Baramulla, firing was also carried out by Pakistan in violation of the ceasefire. BSF jawan Rakesh Doval, who was injured in this nefarious act, has become a martyr. Rakesh Doval was a resident of Ganganagar, Rishikesh, Uttarakhand. He was a member of the BSF Art Regiment and was posted as a constable.
The BSF jawan was shot in the head
According to the BSF, he was shot in the head while taking iron from the enemies at 12:20 today. He passed away at half past one. Meanwhile, firing is also being carried out from Pakistan in Savjian area of Poonch district. The Indian Army is giving a resounding answer.
4 civilians killed in Kamalkot
According to media reports, four civilians were killed in firing on the Pakistani side in the Kamalkot sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Apart from Kamalkot in Uri, ceasefire violation also took place in Gurez sector of Bandipora and Keran sector of Kupwara district.
Suspected intrusion foiled
Srinagar Defense Spokesperson Rajesh Kalia said, “Suspicious activity was spotted at the advance check posts in Keran sector near LOC on Friday morning. Troops thwarted a suspected infiltration attempt. The Indian Army said that mortars were also fired at Keran sector from Pakistan without any reason.
A defense spokesman said the army foiled an infiltration attempt after which firing began. Rajesh Kalia said, “The Indian Army is giving a blunt answer.”
The second intrusion attempt failed in a week
This is the second attempt of infiltration within a week. Earlier, infiltration in Machil sector was foiled on the night of November 7-8. During this three terrorists were also killed. Three soldiers, including a captain and a BSF jawan, were killed during the operation. “The Indian Army is fully prepared to thwart all attempts by Pakistan to infiltrate terrorists,” the spokesperson said.
