Mumbai: The new variant of Coronavirus, Omicron, and Delta variants are creating a ruckus in Maharashtra. Both these variants are spreading fast. Meanwhile, more than 18,466 new cases have been reported in the state within 24 hours. In this, more than 10 thousand cases have been found in the capital Mumbai alone. Apart from this, 75 new Omicron infected have been registered in the state and all these have been reported from the National Institute of Virology. The Health Department of Maharashtra has given this information on Tuesday.

According to the Health Department, out of 75 Omicron patients found in Maharashtra on Tuesday, the maximum 40 have been found in Mumbai, while 9 in Thane, 8 in Pune city, 5 in Panvel, 3 each in sub-capital Nagpur and Kolhapur. At the same time, 2 patients have been found in Pimpri Chinchwad. Apart from this, 1-1 patient has been found in Bhiwandi Nizampur, Ulhasnagar, Satara, Amravati, and Navi Mumbai.

After the arrival of new cases in Maharashtra, the number of Omicron infected in the state has increased to 653. However, the good thing is that so far 259 people have become virus-free among the Omicron infected.

20 deaths in Maharashtra
On the other hand, 18,466 new cases and 20 deaths have been registered in Maharashtra on Tuesday. Due to which the total number of infected in the state has increased to 67,30,494 and the number of dead to 1,41,573. In the state, 4,558 people have returned home after getting corona-free. So far 65,18,916 people have been cured of corona in the state. At present, 66,308 active patients are being treated in the state. The recovery rate in the state is 97.86% and the death rate is 2.1%.

10,860 new cases in Mumbai
Omicron and Delta are wreaking havoc in the capital Mumbai. Corona cases are increasing continuously in the city. Within 24 hours, 10,860 new cases of corona have been reported in the city. Out of which 9,665 patients are asymptomatic. In Mumbai, the death of the infected has been registered within 24 hours. At the same time, within 24 hours in the city, 654 people have returned to their homes after getting corona-free. At present, there are 47,476 active patients in the city. Here the recovery rate has been recorded at 92%.

According to the data released by BMC, 834 have been admitted to the hospital in the cases found today. At the same time, 52 patients have needed oxygen. At present, 4,491 patients are being treated in hospitals and 1,374 patients are on oxygen. Mumbai has 30,565 beds, out of which 26,074 beds are vacant.

In Mumbai, 49,661 people have been tested for corona in the last 24 hours. So far 138,64,594 have been investigated here.

The entire building will be sealed if more than 20% of patients are found
BMC has issued a new ceiling guideline for the sealing buildings. Under which if more than 20% of flats in a society come under the grip of the corona, then they will be sealed.

According to the guidelines for sealing buildings, if more than 20 percent of the flats in a building’s wing or complex or society come under the grip of coronavirus, then it will be sealed. For example, if there are 20 flats in a wing and out of which 2 flats are found in Covid patients, then that wing will be sealed.

Earlier, if 5 or more patients were found in a building, then the building is sealed. Positive patients living in-home quarantine will have to stay at home for 10 days from the onset of symptoms, if in the meantime he does not have any symptoms for 3 days, then after testing, the further decision will be taken on the basis of the report.

At the same time, the high-risk contact will have to be home quarantined for 7 days, after which it will be tested on the fifth or seventh day, further decisions will be taken based on the report. It will be the responsibility of the committee of the society to ensure that the essential supplies continue to reach the affected family.
