Chandigarh: The guarantee of providing free electricity for up to 300 units in Punjab has started from today i.e. from July 1. Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann said that people will get zero amount bills. At the same time, he also said that all electricity bills before 31 December 2021 will be waived.

It is to be known that Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann had announced to provide 300 units per month (ie 600 units in each electricity bill) of free electricity for all categories of domestic consumers in the state from July 1. The scheme will be implemented like this
Let us tell you that 600 units will be free in two months electricity bill for all categories of domestic consumers. But, the condition is that, if the bill exceeds 600 units, the customer will have to pay the entire bill (including 600 units).

The consumption of 62.25 lakh consumers is up to 300 units.
This announcement of the AAP government of Punjab will directly benefit 62.25 lakh consumers out of about 73.80 lakh domestic consumers, as their monthly electricity consumption does not exceed 300 units. According to Punjab State Power Corporation Limited, the average subscriber base here is around 62.25 lakh, which has been determined based on the consumption pattern so far. This number is 84% ​​of the total consumers.
