New Delhi: It has been 34 days since the Russia-Ukraine war. After so many days good news has come. If all goes well, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Russian President Vladimir Putin may meet soon. In fact, today there have been fruitful talks between the delegations of the two countries in Turkey, after which the Russian Deputy Defense Minister has announced that his country will now limit the attack on Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine. Ukraine’s negotiator, on the other hand, has claimed that today’s meeting is enough for Zelensky and Putin to meet face-to-face.

After three weeks, the delegations of both countries had one-on-one talks in Turkey. All the earlier talks were in vain. According to a Reuters report, peace talks between the delegations of the two countries in Turkey started without any enthusiasm. Both the parties seemed torn apart from each other. No one even shook hands with the delegation of another party. But talks have raised hopes of a meaningful solution.

Less attack in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv
Russian Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin has said that Russia’s offensive around the Ukrainian capital Kyiv will now be limited. He said that this is being done so that confidence-building between the two countries is encouraged and there is a meaningful dialogue towards ending the war. Deputy Defense Minister Alexander Fomin said, ‘The Russian army will limit its military activities in the direction of Kyiv and Chernihiv.’

Adequate grounds for the Zelensky-Putin talks
Ukraine’s chief negotiator has said that today’s meeting in Turkey has made substantial progress. Both countries have shown interest in resolving the dispute. Therefore, after this meeting, a face-to-face meeting of the Presidents of Russia and Ukraine is also possible. “The outcome of today’s meeting is enough for the leaders of both countries to meet,” Ukrainian negotiator David Arakhamia said.

Discussion on ending the humanitarian crisis
Now the question is, which issues were discussed in the meeting of both the delegations? Its detailed details have not been revealed yet, but in peace talks, the ceasefire to end the humanitarian crisis arising in Ukraine was the most discussed. It was at the center of the conversation. Apart from this, the security of Ukraine from Russia was also at the center of peace talks. Mykhailo Podolyak, the political adviser to Ukrainian President Zelensky, told that even on the 34th day of the war, there was no reduction in the attack from Russia. This was also discussed in the meeting. However, Podolyaki refused to divulge more on the issue.

War is not in anyone’s interest
Meanwhile, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, hosting these peace talks, has called for an end to the war on both sides. “There are legitimate concerns on both sides,” Erdogan said. Hoping for a peaceful solution that is acceptable to the international community as well. Turkey has twice hosted talks between the two countries since the attack on Ukraine began on February 24. This time the peace talks took place in Dolmabahce Palace in Istanbul.

Earlier on March 10, a meeting of the delegations of Russia and Ukraine was held in the Turkish city of Antalya. On the one hand, Bolodimir Zelensky wants to hold direct talks with Russian President Vladimir Putin, while on the other hand, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has clearly said that face-to-face talks between Zelensky and Putin can happen only when the main issues between the two countries are discussed. Let there be a peace settlement.
