Washington: US Vice President Kamala Harris has described the condition of Corona Virus in India as ‘painful’, saying that the US has promised to help it meet this challenge. “There is no question that this is a big tragedy in terms of the lives of people,” Harris told reporters in Cincinnati, Ohio on Friday. In response to a question, Harris said, “We have made a promise in terms of the dollar amount, which will go towards PPE and other things.” But it is sad. My prayers are with the people in the extreme pain they are going through. ”
Earlier, the White House announced a ban on travel from India in view of the huge increase in cases of Covid-19. Harris said he has not spoken to his family in India since the news of the ban became public.
