Islamabad: A cloud of crisis is hovering over the Imran Khan government in Pakistan. Prime Minister Imran Khan’s government is in danger of losing allies due to the No-Confidence Motion brought by the opposition. A key aide said the allies in the government have shown their inclination towards the opponents.

The threat of political upheaval in nuclear-armed Pakistan is increasing. Because the opposition wants to oust the cricketer-turned-politician PM Imran Khan from power. Voting is going to be held at the earliest this month on the no-confidence motion brought against the government in the Pakistani Parliament last week.

The head of an ally in the Imran Khan government, Pervez Elahi, said that Imran Khan’s chair is 100 percent in danger. Parvez Elahi said this while discussing with Pakistan’s Hum News on Tuesday.

Regarding the lower house of the Pakistani Parliament, in which 4 allies have a total of 20 seats, Pervez Elahi has claimed that all the allies are inclined towards the opposition. Without these allies, the government will be left with only 155 seats in the Lower House, while the figure required for a majority is 172 seats.

Ministers in the Imran Khan government have said that Elahi will not leave the government, while other coalition partners have said they are looking at their options. A spokesperson for Pervez Elahi’s party did not respond to the comment.

The opposition party in Pakistan is besieging Prime Minister Imran Khan on the issue of the poor economy, governance, and foreign policy. For this, the party of former PM Nawaz Sharif and Pakistan People’s Party of former President Asif Ali Zardari have come together.

The whole mathematics of toppling and saving the government depends on numerical strength. The pros and cons have called for protest rallies outside parliament in the capital of Islamabad ahead of the vote. Political analysts say this has increased the possibility of clashes and violence.
