Huge car bombings in Afghanistan

Kabul: On Sunday, 13 people died and around 120 people were injured in a suicide car bomb attack in Afghanistan’s West Ghor province. The head of the hospital in Ghor, Mohammed Omar Lalzad, said that the emergency department workers are treating the seriously and the normally injured. He has expressed the possibility of increasing the death toll. Interior Ministry spokesman Tariq Arran said the car bomb attack was carried out at the entrance of the office of the provincial police chief.

No one has claimed responsibility for the attack in Ghor. The attack came as Qatar continued to hold talks between representatives of the Taliban and the Afghan government. This dialogue is being held to end the war that has been going on in the country for decades. In Ghor, the spokesman of the provincial governor, Arif Aber, said that the explosion was so loud that its sound was heard till the capital Feroze Koh.

“It has partially damaged some government buildings, including the office of the Chief of Police, the Department of Women’s Affairs and the Provincial Office for Refugees,” Aber said. On Friday, the Taliban agreed to stop the attack in South Afghanistan, due to which thousands of people had to face displacement in recent times.
