London: A UK court hearing the extradition case of Nirav Modi on Monday reviewed a new video of Arthur Road Jail in Mumbai. If there is extradition of the fugitive diamond trader on charges of money laundering and fraud by the Government of India, he will be kept in the same jail.

Barrister Helen Malcolm told a Westminster magistrate court in London on Monday that the video proves that there is no risk of prison conditions violating Britain’s obligations under the European Treaty on Human Rights. He told Justice Samuel Gooji that the update video for Barrack 12 looked appropriate.

Monday was the first day of the five-day hearing and will run till Friday. The decision in this case is likely to come by the end of this year. The final hearing is scheduled on December 1.
