New Delhi: After the attack on Ukraine (Ukraine-Russia War), Western countries including America imposed many strict sanctions on Russia and banned the import and export of crude oil and other goods from there. However, India is importing crude oil and other commodities from Russia. America has reacted to this issue. The White House said on Monday that it is not in India’s interest to accelerate or increase imports of energy and other goods from Russia. At the same time, the US offered India to reduce its dependence on Moscow and work with the US to help.

Giving details regarding the visit of top Indian-American adviser Dalip Singh to New Delhi last week, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki told reporters that she explained the US sanctions and reiterated that any country or institution should follow them.

At the same time, the US has clarified that there are no restrictions on payments being made from New Delhi for energy from Russia.
