
New Delhi: The Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) on Saturday launched Pinaka Mk-I Enhanced Rocket System (EPRS) and Pinaka Area Denial Munition (ADM Rocket Systems) at Pokhran range. Successfully tested. DRDO informed that a total of 24 EPRS rockets were fired from different ranges during the last fortnight and required accuracy and consistency were achieved.
Pinaka Mk-I is an upgraded rocket system that has been successfully tested several times. These rocket systems have been developed on the technology of DRDO. The Pinaka Mk-I rocket system has a range of about 45 km. Whereas, the Pinaka-II rocket system has a range of 60 km. The rocket system has been jointly designed by two DRDO laboratories, the Ordnance High Energy Materials Research Laboratory (HEMRL) and the Research and Development Establishment (ARDE).

On the other hand, the Pakistan Army also successfully flight-tested the Shaheen-III surface-to-surface medium-range ballistic missile today. This missile can hit targets up to 2,750 km, which includes many cities in India.
“The purpose of the test flight was to re-verify the various design and technical parameters of the weapon system,” the military’s media arm, Inter-Services Public Relations, said in a statement.
According to the ‘Dawn’ newspaper, the range of the Shaheen-III missiles is up to 2,750 km. It is capable of reaching the farthest point of India’s Northeast and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The missile is equipped with solid fuel and Post-Separation Altitude Correction (PSAC) system.
