New Delhi: Monsoon rains are likely to start from today and it may rain with thunderstorms. On the other hand, according to IMD, the maximum temperature in Delhi is expected to be 38 degrees Celsius on June 18.

Along with this, according to the IMD, conditions are becoming more favorable for further advance of the Monsoon into some more parts of South Peninsular and East India and adjoining areas from June 19 to 22. Today there is a possibility of heavy to very heavy rain at different places in South-East Rajasthan and Meghalaya. Along with this, due to Cyclone Biparjoy, IMD has issued a red alert regarding very heavy rains in East Rajasthan.

According to IMD, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at many places over West Rajasthan, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, and Sikkim today. Heavy rains may occur over Gujarat, Kerala and Mahe, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal. While there is a strong possibility of hailstorms accompanied by strong thunderstorms at many places in Uttarakhand.

According to IMD today Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, West Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Odisha, Assam, Marathwada, Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Heavy rain with lightning, gusty wind and thundershower is expected at isolated places over Yanam, Telangana, Rayalaseema, Interior Karnataka.

But along with this, severe heat wave is going to continue to wreak havoc in many parts of the country even today. At the same time, IMD has predicted severe heatwave conditions in parts of Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam. Along with this, a heat wave is also expected in different areas of West Bengal, Jharkhand, Vidarbha, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, and Telangana today.
