India won second Test beat Australia by 6 wickets

New Delhi: India has defeated Australia by 6 wickets in the Delhi Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy. India had a target of 115 runs in the second innings to win, which India achieved after the lunch break on the third day. India is now ahead 2-0 in the 4-match Test series. In the second innings from India, captain Rohit Sharma scored 31 and Cheteshwar Pujara scored 31 not out. Wicket-keeper batsman S Bharath also scored an unbeaten 23 runs. Apart from him, Virat Kohli scored 20, while Shreyas Iyer scored 12 runs. Opener KL Rahul returned to the pavilion after scoring only 1 run in the second innings.

Earlier, the Indian spin duo of Ravindra Jadeja (seven wickets) and Ravichandran Ashwin (three wickets) bowled out Australia for just 113 runs in the second innings of the second Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy on Sunday. India needs 115 runs to win this Test and take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series. Australia, batting fast on the second day of the match, had added 61 runs by losing one wicket in just 12 overs, but it did not work on the third day. Kangaroos lost nine wickets by adding just 52 runs in about one and a half hours of play.

In the first over of the day itself, Ashwin got Travis Head, who was looking dangerous, caught by wicketkeeper Shrikar Bharat. Head scored 43 off 46 balls with six fours and a six, although no Australian batsman could reach 40 after him. After some time, Jadeja bowled Marnus Labushen (35), while Steve Smith and Matt Renshaw were lbw to Ashwin. Apart from this, Jadeja dismissed Peter Handscomb, Pat Cummins, and Matthew Kuhneman for zero, while Alex Carey could contribute seven runs. This is Jadeja’s career-best performance in Test cricket. Earlier, his best performance came against England in 2016 when he took seven wickets for 48 runs.

Earlier, Australia won the toss and decided to bat first in the second Test match against India and India bowled brilliantly and bowled Australia out for 263 in the first innings. After this, the Indian team scored 262 runs while batting, in which Akshar Patel scored innings of 74 runs all day.
