New Delhi: The ninth round of Corps Commander Level talks between India (India) and China (China) ended at 2:30 pm on Monday. The meeting, which lasted more than 15 hours, took place in Moldo in front of Chushul in the eastern Ladakh sector to address the ongoing military standoff at 11 am on Sunday.

Both countries have been engaged in deadlock on the Line of Actual Control since April-May last year. While China started gaining a large amount of military strength along the Line of Actual Control, India is also ready to react.

Several rounds of talks have failed to produce any significant results in reducing border tensions. The last round of core commander-level talks between the two countries was held on 6 November 2020 in Chushul, East Ladakh.

On 29–30 August, India occupied elevations on the northern and southern sides of Pangong Lake, including key locations overlooking the Chinese army stationed in that area.

The Chinese are first asking India to withdraw troops and tanks from the southern bank, but India is asking for disintegration from all friction points.
