Puducherry: Dr. Kiran Bedi has been removed from the post of Lt. Governor of Puducherry. Dr. Tamilisai Saundarajan, Governor of Telangana has been given the additional charge of Puducherry in place of Bedi. Let me tell you that the ruling Congress party was protesting in Puducherry for a long time to demand the removal of Kiran Bedi. A bandh was also organized on 16 February by the Congress-led Secular Democratic Alliance in this regard. However, it was withdrawn on Monday itself.
Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanaswami submitted a memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind on February 10, urging him that the former IPS officer be recalled. She claimed that she is running the Tughlaq Durbar.
