New Delhi: The weather is changing across the country. Due to this, there is a rapid increase in the cases of fever, cold, and flu among the people. In such a situation, people are consuming medicines without consulting the doctor, for which the Indian Medical Association has issued an advisory and advised them to avoid antibiotics. The IMA said that the number of patients with symptoms of cough, nausea, vomiting, sore throat, fever, body ache, and diarrhea has increased rapidly.

Most cases of the influenza virus
The IMA said that this infection lasts for an average of five to seven days. The fever ends in three days. But the cough can persist for three weeks. According to NDC information, most of these cases are of the H3N2 influenza virus. The IMA advised doctors to refrain from prescribing antibiotics.

IMA asked to avoid antibiotics
The Indian Medical Association (IMA) has asked doctors to avoid prescribing antibiotics for seasonal fever, cold, and cough. The IMA announced this through a notice posted on social media on Friday. The notice states that seasonal fever will not last more than a week and the use of antibiotics needs to be avoided. At the same time, viral cases are increasing rapidly in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal.

4 out of 10 families are troubled by viral
According to a survey, one or more people in four out of 10 families is suffering from persistent cough, congestion, fatigue, body ache, and fever in the last 30 days. LocalCircles received information about the virus from over 1,000 households in the city. 63 percent are men and 37 percent are women. While one member in 13 percent of the families is in the grip of viral infection. At the same time, two to three people in 13 percent of the family are going through viral at this time. Apart from this, four or more people 13 percent of the family are ill at this time.
