Mumbai: Food chain McDonald’s on Thursday opened a new outlet at the city’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport. The company claims that this is the country’s first ‘Drive Thru Restaurant’ at an airport. In a ‘drive-through restaurant’ the services are given through a window. People do not need to get down from the car to collect goods.
According to a statement issued by the company, the outlet opened by McDonald’s India (West and South) is located just 100 meters from Terminal-2 of the city’s international airport. This will be the first McDonald’s restaurant in the city to be open 24 hours. This airport restaurant is spread over 3,000 square feet. It has a McCafé, an eatery area, and a takeaway counter.

This innovative concept is a significant step toward our continuous commitment to enhancing customer experience, catering to their evolving needs, and offering them the best possible dining experience.
The Drive-Thru restaurant boasts numerous innovative features, which will offer customers the experience of the future:
- Dedicated Drive-Thru lane and Customer Ordering Display (COD) for customers to seamlessly order and enjoy their meals on-the-go
- Instant order in just 120 seconds as part of McDonald’s India Service Guarantee program
- 4 Self Ordering Kiosks (SOK) installed at the restaurant to help customers save time and offer a quick, digital, and smart ordering experience
- Premium and spacious seating experience This new addition expands McDonald’s presence at T2, bringing the total count to three restaurants within the airport.
According to the statement, a separate drive-thru lane has been created near the outlet for people to place their orders without alighting from the vehicle. With this, now there are three McDonald’s shops at Terminal-2 of the International Airport here.
