New Delhi: Scientists engaged in finding a cure for diabetes have got a big success. He has controlled type-2 diabetes with the help of ultrasound. The biggest thing is that neither medicines nor injections were needed in this treatment. During this, ultrasound rays were released in the liver at a particular place, due to which the level of insulin, glucose in the body decreased significantly. However, this technology is still in the testing stage. Its use on three categories of animals has yielded encouraging results. Now preparations are on for its use on humans. Scientists hope that if this technology is successful, then in the coming time such small devices can be made, with which people will be able to treat diabetes at home.

A team of GE Research in America has carried out this experiment. The team also includes scientists from the Yale School of Medicine and the Feinstein Institute of Medical Research. Information about this has been given by writing an article in the journal Nature Biomedical Engineering. This technique has been named Peripheral Focused Ultrasound Stimulation (pFUS). The team of scientists observed during the experiments that the nerves producing sensation inside the liver can be stimulated through the rays of ultrasound.

Scientists told Nature Magazine that we focused on the part of the liver called porta hepatis. Here there is a network of nerves coming from the spine. This is what sends information to our brain about the level of glucose and nutrients in the body. It is difficult to know about them because they are very small. Scientists told that during the experiment, we released pFUS ultrasound rays in this part of the liver. Due to this, it was successful in normalizing high blood sugar again. He told that so far this technique has been successfully used in rats and pigs. During this experiment, ultrasound rays were released for only 3 minutes, which normalized the level of diabetes in the animals. Now preparations are being made for its use on humans.

Scientists expressed the hope that if this technique is successful on humans as well, then there will be hope of getting rid of a major disease. In the future, such small devices can be made, which people can use at home, and diabetes can be controlled with the use of just a few minutes a day. For this, they will neither have to eat any medicine nor will they have to take insulin injections. This technology will prove to be a game changer in the treatment of diabetes.
