Gandhinagar: Gujarat reported 28 more deaths and 524 new cases of Novel Corona-virus in the past 24 hours, taking the overall number of positive cases in the western state to 24628, including 1534 deaths and 17090 recoveries so far.
There were 418 new recoveries during the past 24 hours. Out of 28 fatalities, 21 had occurred in Ahmedabad, two each in Surat, Sabarkantha and Vadodara and one in Panchmahal.
With 332 more new cases, Ahmedabad has a total of maximum 17289 positive cases, including 1231 deaths and 12057 recoveries so far. All the new cases were locals, according to the official bulletin of the health department. A total of 6004 cases were active, while 64 were on ventilator support.
The first case of COVID-19 in the state was detected on March 19 in Rajkot, while the first death due to the contagion was reported on March 22 in Surat, where 106 deaths have been reported so far.
Ahmedabad has reported maximum 1231 deaths, followed by Vadodara 45, Gandhinagar 21, Panchmahal 15, Aravalli 14, Bhavnagar 13, Anand 12, Patan 10, Mahesana nine, Banaskantha eight, Sabarkantha seven, Kutch, Kheda, Rajkot and Bharuch five each, Amreli four, Jamanagar, Surendranagar and Valsad three each, Mahisagar, Porbandar and Botad two each, and one each in Junagadh Navsari and Morbi.
One patient has migrated to another state. So far, 297870 tests have been conducted across the state, while over 2.12 lakh people were in quarantine. All 33 districts in the western state have positive cases
