New Delhi: In protest against the ‘Agneepath’ military recruitment scheme, some organizations have announced a Bharat Bandh today. Keeping this in mind, the state governments have tightened the security arrangements. RAF and GRP have been put on high alert. The security forces have been instructed to deal strictly with the protesters who indulge in violence. He has been asked to take action against the perpetrators of violence under serious sections. Every activity will be carefully monitored during Bharat Bandh. Under this, digital evidence will be collected against those who commit violence with a mobile, camera, or CCTV.

Haryana State’s Faridabad Police has deployed over 2,000 policemen to ensure law and order in the city in view of the Bharat Bandh. To keep an eye on anti-social elements, 12 police blocks have been set up and videography has been arranged. Haryana is one of the states that has witnessed violent protests against the Agneepath scheme. The Director-General of Police (DGP) of Kerala has said that the entire force will be on duty to arrest any person involved in violence or damage to public property during the Bharat Bandh on Monday.

District police chiefs in Kerala have been directed to prevent forced closure of businesses and provide security to courts, offices of the State Electricity Board (KSEB) and Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) as well as government offices and institutions. Rajesh Sharma, Secretary, of the Education Department, Government of Jharkhand has said that all the schools in the state will remain closed on Monday amid the announcement of Bharat Bandh by some organizations. Section 144 of CrPC has been implemented in many major cities of Uttar Pradesh.

Reiterating that Section 144 is already in force in the district, Gautam Buddh Nagar police warned that an FIR would be lodged against anyone found indulging in activities that violate the law. UP also witnessed violence during the agitation against the Agneepath scheme. In many districts including Aligarh, Ballia, Mathura, and Deoria, protesters set railway and roadways properties on fire. The ADGP (Law and Order) of Punjab has directed the state police to keep a watch on the activities of social media groups, through which false information is allegedly being spread about the Agneepath scheme.
