New Delhi: A rare sight will be seen in the sky this week. After about 1000 years, the four planets of our solar system will parade in the sky. In other words, Saturn, Mars, Venus, and Jupiter will be seen in a straight line. If the sky is clear, then they can be seen in India with the naked eye. You can also become a witness to this unique sight an hour before sunrise. According to astronomers, earlier such a scene was seen in 947 AD.

Shubhendu Patnaik, deputy director of Pathani Samantha Planetarium in Bhubaneswar, told news agency ANI that in the last week of April 2022, there will be a rare and unique parade of Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn in the sky towards the east. They will be visible in the sky about an hour before sunrise. The last such parade of these planets took place about 1,000 years ago in 947 AD. He told that on April 27, an hour before sunrise, the moon along with the four planets Jupiter, Venus, Mars, and Saturn will be visible within 30 degrees from the eastern horizon in a straight line. They can be seen with or without binoculars. On April 30, the brightest planets Venus and Jupiter will be seen very close together. Venus will be visible 0.2 degrees south of Jupiter.

In a conversation with ANI, Patnaik told that there are usually three types of Planet Parade. Although there is no scientific definition for this rare sight, it is used in astronomy to represent the phenomenon when the planets of the Solar System line up in the same region of the sky. The first type of planet parade is one in which three planets are seen on one side of the Sun. Such a sight is common and can be seen many times a year. Similarly, once a year the four planets come in a line. Every 19 years 5 planets appear in a line. All eight planets appear in a straight line once in 170 years.

He explained that the second type of planetary parade is called when some planets are visible in a small area of the sky at the same time. Such a planet parade was last seen on 18 April 2002 and July 2020, when all the planets in the solar system that could be seen with the naked eye were seen in a row in the evening. Patnaik told that the third type of planet parade is rare. The view seen in the sky at the end of April comes in this category.
