Tehran: The powerful Revolutionary Guard of Iran warned the UAE on Saturday after the announcement of a historic agreement to begin diplomatic relations between the United Arab Emirates and Israel. Stating that the move would prove dangerous for the UAE.

The UAE has become the first Gulf Arab country to establish diplomatic relations with Israel and only the third Arab nation to establish normal relations. The Iranian guard called the agreement an “embarrassing” agreement and a “damaging step”. The agreement has also been signed by America. The Guard warned that the agreement with Israel would bring back American influence in West Asia, and bring a “dangerous future” for the Emirati government.
Iranian President Hassan Rouhani has also condemned the UAE’s move. In a television speech on Saturday, he warned that the United Arab Emirates had made a major mistake by compromising towards normalizing relations with Israel. Significantly, US President Donald Trump announced on Thursday that the United Arab Emirates and Israel have agreed to establish full diplomatic relations.
