New Delhi: Preparations are fast in India amid rising corona cases in many countries including China, South Korea, the US, and Japan. Regarding this, the Chief Ministers of many states including the Union Health Ministry, and PM Narendra Modi have held a meeting. Meanwhile, sources told on Saturday (December 31) that 53 Covid positive cases have been found so far in the random testing being done at the airport, which is 0.94 percent.
Sources said, “A total of 53 corona cases have come up in two percent random testing being done at various airports in the country. Five thousand 666 samples have been collected i.e. only 0.94 percent of the total tests. Passengers of about 1,716 international flights were monitored and 5,666 samples were collected for COVID-19 testing.”
Why is random testing happening?
Recently Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said that there will be two percent random testing at the airport. After this, due to the increase in cases of infection in countries like China, South Korea, Brazil, and America, as a precautionary measure, the investigation of passengers arriving at international airports in the state started on 24 December.
India’s preparation
The risk of the corona has increased in China and South Korea in recent times. In China, the sub-variant BF.7 of Corona’s variant Omicron is responsible for most of the cases of Kovid. In view of this, India has made it mandatory for passengers coming from China, Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, and Thailand to present a negative Covid report from January 1. Covid test will have to be done within 72 hours before starting the journey.
Let us tell you that according to the data released by the Union Health Ministry on Saturday morning, 226 new cases of Kovid-19 were reported in India in the last 24 hours, due to which the number of people infected with the coronavirus in the country has increased to 4, 46,78,384 has been done. At the same time, the number of patients undergoing treatment has increased to 3,653.
