Bhopal: Giving relief to the hail-affected farmers in Madhya Pradesh, the state government has transferred financial assistance of Rs 202.90 crore to the bank accounts of more than 1.46 lakh farmers. An official of the state’s Public Relations Department said that Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan transferred this amount online from his residence on Thursday through a video conference.
On this occasion, Chouhan said that his government is farmer-friendly and stands by him in every crisis including natural calamities, that is why it is never too late to give relief to the farmers in case of crop failure. Rs 202.90 crore was deposited in the bank accounts of 1,46,101 farmers in 26 districts of the state. The crops of these farmers were damaged in the hailstorm last month.
He said that in the last almost two years, a total of Rs 1.75 lakh crore has been given to the farmers under Kisan Samman Nidhi and interest-free loans have also been given to the farmers. The Chief Minister also interacted with the beneficiary farmers of four districts.
