New Delhi: The Supreme Court has listed for hearing the petition for postponement of the Graduate Eligibility Test (GATE) in the engineering examination to be held from February 5 due to the situation of the Covid-19 global pandemic. Got ready to do it on Wednesday.

A bench of Chief Justice NV Ramana, Justice AS Bopanna, and Justice Hima Kohli took note of the plea of ​​advocate Pallav Mongia to list the petition and said, “We will list it.” Pallav Mongia said, “It is about the GATE exam. Nine lakh students will give the exam to be held on Saturday. Admit cards have also been issued. Please list the petition.”

The petition has sought an interim stay on the GATE examination. It is being said that nine lakh students will appear in 200 centers, but the authorities have not issued any COVID-19 guidelines for conducting the exams. The GATE exam is conducted to test the knowledge and understanding of undergraduate-level subjects in engineering and science of students for admission to master’s programs and certain PSU recruitments.
