Bhopal: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange Alert for the possibility of heavy to very heavy rain in 24 districts of Madhya Pradesh on Saturday. Rain continues in large parts of the state. The department informed me about this. PK Saha, senior meteorologist at Bhopal Center of India Meteorological Department said that this alert is till Sunday morning.
Saha said that Jabalpur, Rewa, Satna, Anuppur, Umaria, Dindori, Katni, Narsinghpur, Mandla, Sagar, Tikamgarh, Vidisha, Sehore, Rajgarh, Betul, Burhanpur, Khandwa, Khargone, Dhar, Dewas, Agar-Malwa, Ashok Nagar And heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at isolated places over Shivpuri districts.
Apart from this, rain or thundershowers are very likely to occur in most of the ten divisions of the state including Bhopal, Indore, and Chambal, he said.
He said that Sumner in Agar-Malwa district received the highest rainfall of 211 mm in the last 24 hours till 08.30 am on Saturday, while Umaria town of East Madhya Pradesh received the maximum rainfall of 170.5 mm during this period.
