Key Points:

  1. Defending the Constitution: Rahul Gandhi claims BJP and RSS tried to alter the Constitution, vows Congress will protect it.
  2. Breaking Reservation Barriers: Promises to increase the 50% reservation limit in Congress-ruled states and later implement it nationally.
  3. Caste Census Demand: Criticizes Narendra Modi for avoiding a caste census, saying he is “afraid to conduct it.”
  4. Unemployment Crisis: Highlights the futility of education without jobs, stating IIM/IIT graduates are struggling for employment.
  5. Corporate Favoritism: Accuses Modi of waiving loans of billionaires while neglecting farmers, students, and the poor.
  6. China Dependency: Claims GST burdens the poor, while Chinese companies benefit via Adani-Ambani imports.

Indore: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, speaking at the Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhaan Rally in Indore, launched a heated attack against BJP and the RSS, accusing them of conspiring to alter the Indian Constitution. Holding a copy of the Constitution dramatically, he declared, “The Congress party is saving the Constitution from BJP and RSS.”

Referring to the BJP’s bold claims during the last parliamentary elections, he alleged, “BJP leaders said that if they get 400 seats, they would change the Constitution. But we stood firm against them. Instead of getting 400 seats, they had to enter Parliament with their heads bowed.”

Rahul further emphasized the Constitution’s role in safeguarding the rights of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, and the poor, warning, “The day this Constitution is destroyed, there will be nothing left for the marginalized in this country.”

“Congress Will Break 50% Reservation Ceiling”: Gandhi’s Bold Promise

On the issue of reservations, Gandhi made an ambitious promise to expand the existing limits. He announced, “In Congress-ruled states, we will first break the 50% limit on reservations. Then, we will push for this in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha and implement it nationally.”

He also took aim at the Prime Minister, stating, “Narendra Modi is scared of conducting a caste census. He will never agree to it.” The demand for a caste-based census has been a persistent point of contention, with Congress claiming it would shed light on socio-economic inequalities.

“Degree Without Employment Is a Waste”: Rahul Criticizes Job Crisis

Shifting focus to one of the nation’s pressing issues, Gandhi criticized the BJP government for the rising unemployment crisis. He explained the frustration of educated youth, saying, “Parents spend lakhs of rupees on their children’s education, thinking a degree will ensure employment. But even IIM and IIT graduates are struggling to find jobs. A degree without employment is meaningless.”

He further accused the Modi government of creating economic policies that enslave Dalits, backward communities, and the poor, while favoring billionaires.

“Poor and Billionaires Pay the Same GST”: Rahul Talks Tax Injustice

The Congress leader also condemned the GST system, pointing out its regressive nature. He remarked, “Like Ambani and Adani, the poor also pay GST. Narendra Modi waived off loans worth ₹16 lakh crore for billionaires, but tell me, which farmer’s loan was waived? Which student’s loan was forgiven?”

He criticized the government for failing to support ordinary citizens, stating, “You work hard, pay your taxes, and Adani-Ambani use that money to import Chinese goods. This doesn’t provide jobs to Indian youth but instead benefits Chinese workers.”

Rahul’s Stark Message: Protect the Constitution, Empower the People

Rahul Gandhi’s fiery speech in Indore highlighted Congress’s agenda to combat unemployment, fight for expanded reservations, and save the Constitution from alleged threats posed by BJP and RSS. As political tensions rise ahead of the 2024 elections, Gandhi’s accusations underscore Congress’s bid to renew its position as the defender of marginalized communities and constitutional values.

The rally was not just a campaign event but also a platform for the Congress leader to address the socio-economic challenges facing the country.
