Prayagraj: The Yogi government is gearing up to make Maha Kumbh-2025 not only a grand and divine event but also a global example of excellence. This two-month-long event is set to break several world records, surpassing the achievements of Kumbh 2019. With a budget increase from Rs 3.5 crore in 2019 to Rs 5 crore this time, the government aims to promote a green and clean Maha Kumbh to the world.
Increased Budget for Greater Impact
The Yogi government has allocated a total budget of Rs 4.87 crore for establishing four Guinness World Records through public participation. This includes Rs 2.25 crore for activity management and Rs 1.62 crore for other developmental works. In comparison, the 2019 Kumbh saw an expenditure of Rs 3.53 crore on similar activities. This year, an additional Rs 1.25 crore will be spent to ensure the success of these record-breaking activities.
Fostering Community Spirit
One of the highlights of Kumbh 2019 was the record for maximum handprint painting, where 7,664 people contributed to a 60-foot canvas in 8 hours, breaking South Korea’s previous record of 4,675 signatures. For Maha Kumbh 2025, the government plans to involve 10,000 people in this activity, setting a new benchmark for community participation.
Promoting Green Energy and Clean Environment
In 2019, the Yogi government organized the largest bus parade with 503 buses, surpassing Abu Dhabi’s record of 390 buses. For Maha Kumbh 2025, the plan is to parade 1,000 electric rickshaws (e-rickshaws) to raise awareness about green energy and a healthy environment.
Commitment to Cleanliness
A significant record from Kumbh 2019 was the simultaneous cleaning of ghats and the fair area by 10,180 participants, showcasing the government’s dedication to cleanliness. For Maha Kumbh 2025, the goal is to involve 15,000 people in a massive cleanliness drive across various locations and ghats. Additionally, 300 people will enter the river simultaneously to carry out a cleaning campaign, setting another new record.
Maha Kumbh 2025 promises to be a monumental event, not just in terms of scale but also in its commitment to community participation, environmental sustainability, and cleanliness. The Yogi government’s extensive preparations and increased budget reflect their dedication to making this event a global example of excellence.
