Mumbai: Big news is coming out from Maharashtra. At least seven people died of heatstroke during the Maharashtra Bhushan Award ceremony in Kharghar in Navi Mumbai on Sunday, while 24 are undergoing treatment. This information was given by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He has announced to give Rs 5 lakh each to the families of the deceased.

CM Eknath Shinde said, at least seven people who suffered from heatstroke died during the Maharashtra Bhushan award ceremony at Kharghar in Navi Mumbai, while 24 are undergoing treatment. Rs 5 lakh will be given to the families of the deceased while we are ensuring proper treatment of the admitted people.

Significantly, a program was organized in Navi Mumbai to honor social worker Dattatreya Narayan alias Appasaheb Dharmadhikari with the Maharashtra Bhushan Award. Where thousands of people proved. Over 120 people suffered heat-related health problems such as dehydration due to the scorching sun. Out of this, 24 people have been admitted to the hospital.

Lakhs of Dharmadhikari’s supporters had reached this grand event in the huge ground of 306 acres in Kharghar. Union Home Minister Amit Shah presented the Maharashtra Maharashtra Bhushan Award to Dharmadhikari. People had started coming for this program since morning and this program started at around 11.30 am and went on till one o’clock. Many of these people had come on Saturday itself. The ground was packed with people and audio/video facilities was also arranged for the convenience of the followers of Shri Member (Dharmadhikari’s organization). The seating arrangement was done in the open and no shed was arranged.

A total of 123 people complained of heat-related health problems like dehydration during the event, said a revenue department official on duty at the venue. He was immediately taken to 30 medical booths at the venue. Thirteen patients required specialized treatment, were taken to private hospitals, and are in critical condition.
