Mumbai: Amidst the growing crisis of Omicron, Maharashtra has once again become a hotspot of coronavirus across the country. In the last 24 hours, 8067 new cases have been reported inside the state, while eight patients have also lost their lives. This information was given in the bulletin issued by the State Health Department.
According to the Health Department, while there has been an increase in the number of infected people, there has also been an increase in the number of people recovering. On the last day, 1766 people have recovered and returned to their homes. Looking at the way the number of infected people is increasing in Maharashtra, it is being said that the third wave of the corona has come in the state.
Four cases of Omicron were found again
The Omicron case came down on Friday after setting a record on Thursday. In the last 24 hours, only four cases have been reported across the state, after which the number of Omicron infected has increased to 454.
Omicron replacing Delta
The Omicron form of coronavirus in the country has now started to replace the delta form in terms of a number of cases and about 80 percent of the international travelers found infected are now found infected with Omicron. Official sources gave this information on Friday.
However, one-third of the cases reported are mild, while the rest are asymptomatic, the sources said. A total of 1,270 cases of Omicron have been detected in 23 states and union territories so far, according to the data updated by the Union Health Ministry on Friday.
