Boat full of tourists capsized in Malappuram

New Delhi: A painful accident took place in Kerala. Many people drowned when a tourist boat capsized here, out of which about 21 people died. Rescue is going on. At least 21 people drowned after a boat carrying more than 25 people capsized in Kerala’s Malappuram district. It is being told that the incident took place at Tuval Teram tourist spot in Tannur at around 7 pm on Sunday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also expressed grief over the loss of lives in the incident and announced a compensation of Rs 2 lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased.

According to information, a tourist boat capsized near Tanur in Malappuram district of Kerala. The rescue operation is still going on. So far 21 people have died. Officials said that the exact number of people sitting in the boat is yet to be ascertained. The search operation is on to trace the number.

Kerala Health Minister Veena George called an emergency meeting of the state health department at midnight after the incident and directed officials to ensure better treatment of the injured. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan said that he is deeply saddened by the tragic loss of lives in the Tanur boat accident in Malappuram. He expressed condolences to the families of the deceased by tweeting.

PM Modi also expressed grief over the death of people in this incident and announced a compensation of Rs two lakh each to the next of kin of the deceased. Along with this, he expressed his grief by tweeting. The next of kin of each deceased will be given an ex-gratia of Rs 2 lakh from PMNRF. President Draupadi Murmu also expressed grief over the incident. He tweeted that the tragic death of people in the boat accident in Malappuram, Kerala is extremely shocking and sad. My heartfelt condolences to the families who have lost their loved ones.
