Tokyo: The vaccination campaign began in Japan with the delivery of the first dose of Coronavirus vaccine (Covid-19 Vaccination) to health workers on Wednesday. This is considered to be important for the Tokyo Olympics, which is already late. The government has approved the use of vaccines developed by drug manufacturer Pfizer, which has been in use in many countries since December.

Around 40,000 physicians and nurses from selected 100 hospitals across the country took the first dose of the vaccine on Wednesday and the second dose will be given on 10 March. Half of these people will take a seven-week health survey. Vaccination of more than 37 lakh health workers in the country will begin in March. After this, vaccination of at least 36 million people 65 years or older will start in April. Vaccination of people suffering from health-related diseases will be done before the vaccination of common people.
