Bangkok: Coronavirus, the tension on the border with India (India-China Border Dispute), the tension in the South China Sea, and poor relations with the US, China is losing its friends every day. Thailand, which is close to the countries of China, has also started shying away from it. After previously postponing the Submarine deal with China for an indefinite period, Thailand has now refused to give contracts to Chinese companies to construct a Kra Canal proposal in the Bay of Bengal.

According to a report in the Strait Times, the government of Thailand has suddenly announced the completion of the canal project in the Bay of Bengal. In a statement issued by the Government of Thailand, it has been said that this decision has been taken in the interest of small neighboring countries. It says that Myanmar and Cambodia share their borders with China. The Government of Thailand feels that China can influence the interests of these two through the canal.

After this decision of Thailand, it seems clear that after the extreme attitude of South China Sea China, all the countries are shying away from it. Before trade, China was going to build a canal in the Bay of Bengal. However, now the Thai government has canceled its contract. The Thai government will now make it on its own. This canal will be 120 km long.

The submarine deal has also been postponed
Earlier, Thailand had postponed the 2017 submarine deal. Let us tell you that in the year 2015, negotiations started between Thailand and China on the purchase of naval hardware and equipment. In 2017 Thailand signed a deal to buy 3 submarines. The first submarine was to be delivered by China in 2023. However, the public was protesting against this deal in Thailand and the Thai government postponed it indefinitely. The protesting people had said that the country is already in an economic crisis, so buying a submarine is not right. According to the information, the submarine deal was worth $ 72.4 million and due to its postponement, China has suffered a major setback.
