Washington: US President Joe. Biden has left the White House for a four-day visit to Europe, where he will meet with key aides to discuss the Russian offensive in Ukraine. Biden told reporters after leaving Wednesday that the possibility of Russia using chemical weapons in the Ukraine war was a “real threat”.

He said that he would hold talks with the leaders on Thursday on the subject. There are fears that Russia may use chemical or nuclear weapons in Ukraine. Biden’s first stop is Brussels, where he will attend an emergency summit of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). He will also participate in the meetings of the European Union and the G7 group. a

US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan told reporters at the White House on Tuesday, “President Biden will attend an emergency meeting of NATO, which will be attended by the leaders of 29 other NATO member states.” He had said, “He will meet with the G-7 leaders and will address the leaders of the 27-member EU during the session of the European Council. He can also discuss the next stage of providing military assistance to Ukraine.

Biden will fly from Brussels to Poland, where he will meet with US troops helping to defend NATO territory and meet with experts involved in humanitarian aid.
