New Delhi: According to the schedule announced by the ICC, Team India will play its 9 matches at 9 different venues. The team’s first match will be against Australia on 8 October in Chennai. The Indian team will again take on Afghanistan in Delhi on 11 October and then against Pakistan on 15 October. The big match between India and Pakistan will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.

Talking about India’s other matches, it will play Bangladesh in Pune on October 19, New Zealand in Dharamsala on October 22, England in Lucknow on October 29, qualifiers in Mumbai on November 2, and South Africa in Kolkata on November 5. From and will take on the second qualifier team in Bengaluru on 11 November.

For the first time, the entire ODI World Cup is being held in India. Earlier in 1987 India-Pakistan, in 1996 India-Pakistan-Sri Lanka and in 2011 India-Sri Lanka-Bangladesh jointly organized the World Cup. India has won the ODI World Cup title twice in 1983 under the leadership of Kapil Dev and in 2011 under the captaincy of MS Dhoni.

Talking about the ODI World Cup, apart from India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, New Zealand, South Africa, Australia and England have qualified. 2 champion teams Sri Lanka and West Indies are entering the qualifiers. This is the 13th season of the tournament. So far 6 teams have won the World Cup title at least once.

Australia has won the ODI World Cup the maximum number of times, 5 times. India and West Indies have won the title 2-2 times. Whereas England, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have won the title once each. The New Zealand team has been runner-up 2 times. The Kiwi team got defeated in the finals of both the World Cups 2015 and 2019.

Talk about the history of ODI World Cup, Australia has won the most 69 matches. New Zealand’s team is second with 54 wins and Team India is third with 53 wins. In such a situation, this time under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma, the Indian team can reach number two. No other team has been able to win 50 matches in the ODI World Cup so far.

Defending champions England have won 48 matches in the ODI World Cup, Pakistan 45, West Indies 43, South Africa 38, Sri Lanka 38 and Bangladesh 14. Afghanistan’s team has so far won only one match in the ODI World Cup. But the performance of the team has been excellent. Due to this he has qualified directly for the World Cup.

If you look at the history of ODI World Cup, former Australian fast bowler Glenn McGrath has taken the maximum 71 wickets. 7 wickets for 15 runs has been the best performance. At the same time, former Indian legend Sachin Tendulkar has scored a maximum of 2278 runs. No other batsman has been able to touch the figure of 2000 runs. Sachin has scored 6 centuries and 15 half-centuries in the World Cup.
