Washington: A new revelation has come to light in the rape case against Donald Trump by magazine columnist E. Jean Carroll. According to a report by the American news channel CNN, during the debate in the court, the former President mistakenly mistook Carroll, who filed a rape case in a picture, as his ex-wife Marla Maples. Old records show that during his October 2022 statement, Trump was shown a black-and-white photo of him in conversation with several people, including his then-wife Ivana, Carroll, and her then-husband. When shown the photo, Trump said, “I don’t know who it is – it’s Marla. She’s Marla, yes, she’s my wife.”
However, according to the transcript, Trump’s attorney Alina Habba intervened and said, “No, that’s Carroll.” Carroll first sued Trump for defamation in 2019 after denying the rape allegation. He filed a second lawsuit against Trump in November under a new law. Significantly, Trump has denied sexual harassment of Carroll and said that he never pressured any woman to have sex.
When asked if he had ever kissed a woman without her consent, Trump denied it. He also refused to touch any woman’s breasts. Also, Carroll’s lawyer Roberta Kaplan asked Trump if he ever pressured any woman to have sex with him. In response, Trump refused and said that but you may have some people like your client, who are ready to lie.
