Kabul: At least 100 people have been killed in a bomb blast targeting a mosque in northern Afghanistan. This information was given by a Taliban police official.

Taliban police officer Dost Mohammad Obadiah said most of these people were killed. No organization has yet claimed responsibility for the blast in Kunduz province, but Islamic State militants have a long history of attacking Afghanistan’s Shia Muslim minority.

Friday’s attack, once the death toll is confirmed, is the deadliest and the highest since the withdrawal of US and NATO troops from Afghanistan in late August and the Taliban’s occupation of the country.
