Village Security Guard Scheme Approved

New Delhi: According to the big news of the afternoon, the Union Home Ministry has now approved the Village Guard Scheme in Jammu and Kashmir. After getting its approval, now a large deployment of security forces will be done in every village of Jammu and Kashmir. The head of this village guard will get Rs 4,500 and the member will also get Rs 4,000 per month as a salary.

Significantly, in the era of terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, the Village Security Committees (VDC) formed for the protection of Hindus and minority Muslims have been reconstituted. Its name has been changed to Village Security Group (VDG). Along with this, these members have been named Guards. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also fixed the pay scales of the head and members of the group while issuing the reorganization order.

On the other hand, if we talk about village security committees, then the government formed them in 1995 to deal with terror in Jammu and Kashmir. Then some hardworking youths from each village were added to the Village Security Committees to zealously help the Army and the Jammu and Kashmir Police in their campaign against terror. At the same time, the government had given arms and weapons training to many members of these village security committees.

However, now these have been restructured and renamed Village Security Group (VDG). Along with this, work has also been done on their salary. Let us inform you that in the militancy-prone areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Doda, Kishtwar, Ramban, Poonch, and Rajouri, Village Security Committees have made a very important and necessary contribution to the settlement of terrorism.
