Toyota to launch Taisor

New Delhi: Toyota Kirloskar Motors, the Indian subsidiary of the Japanese automaker, is all set to launch a new sub-compact SUV in the Indian market in 2024. The SUV, named Taisor, will be equipped with the latest technology and features, and will also offer a CNG variant for eco-conscious customers.

Taisor will be available in two engine options: a 1.2-liter naturally aspirated petrol engine and a 1.0-liter Boosterjet engine. The petrol engine will produce 90 bhp of power and 113 Nm of torque, while the Boosterjet engine will deliver 100 bhp of power and 147 Nm of torque. The Boosterjet engine is a turbocharged engine that offers better performance and fuel efficiency than the conventional petrol engine.

The company will also introduce a CNG variant with a 1.2-liter petrol engine, which will have a mileage of more than 30 kilometers per kg. The CNG variant will cater to customers who prefer a cleaner and cheaper fuel alternative to petrol and diesel.

Taisor will also boast the latest features and technology in the sub-compact SUV segment. It will have a 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system that will support Android and Apple Car Play connectivity, allowing the users to access their smartphone apps and functions on the screen. It will also have safety and convenience features such as 6 airbags, ABS, EBD, rear parking sensor and camera, climate control AC, steering mounted control, and child isofix seats.

The company has not revealed the prices of Taisor yet, but it is expected that the starting price will be around Rs 8 lakh, while the top variant will cost up to Rs 14 lakh. The company will showcase the SUV and share more details in the early months of 2024. Taisor will compete with other sub-compact SUVs such as Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Tata Nexon.
