Tata Motors’ big achievement, surpassing the production figure of 40 lakh passenger vehicles

New Delhi: Well-known auto company Tata Motors on Saturday said that its Passenger Vehicle Vertical has crossed the figure of 40 lakhs in terms of total production. The company introduced its first model Tata Sierra SUV in this segment nearly three decades ago in 1991.

Tata Motors introduced models like Indica, Sierra, Sumo, Safari and Nano during this period and had earlier crossed the figure of 1 million in 2005-06 and 3 million in 2015 in terms of production of passenger vehicles.

Shailesh Chandra, President, Tata Motors’ Passenger Vehicles Business Unit, said, “This is a very important milestone for Tata Motors. Very few companies in the industry have been able to achieve this. It has been a long journey since the introduction of the Tata Sierra in 1991. “

He said that the company is focusing on the safety aspects of its vehicles as well as promoting electric vehicles in the country. He hopes that the company’s cars are now more popular in the market than before and that the next million sales figures will be achieved in a relatively short time.

Tata Motors has factories in Chikhli in Pune and Sanand in Gujarat. It has a factory in Ranjangaon in Pune in association with Fiat.

Tata Motors recorded bumper sales in September
Significantly, Tata Motors had succeeded in selling 21,200 units in September 2020. The company had sold just 8,097 units in the same month last year. Thus the company recorded an aging of 162 percent.
