NTCA in preparation for shifting of cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh after the death of 6 cheetahs

Bhopal: After the death of 6 cheetahs in Kuno National Park, now the government has been alerted. Under this, the preparation to shift the cheetahs to another place has intensified. An attempt will be made to resettle the cheetahs in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary of Mandsaur before the coming November. Apart from this, some cheetahs will be released in Nauradehi Sanctuary.

In the meeting of the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) in Bhopal, a discussion was held between CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav, and members of the authority regarding the shifting of cheetahs. CP Goyal, DG, and Secretary, of Union Forest Ministry said that the process of shifting cheetahs will be started soon. Preparations are being made to release them in the Gandhi Sagar Sanctuary before November. Work has started on this fast. He has described the death of cheetahs in Kuno Palpur as natural.

Union Minister Bhupendra Yadav along with CM Shivraj Singh Chauhan was present in the NTCA meeting.

Shifting of cheetahs will start soon
Earlier, on the continuous death of cheetahs, experts had asked to shift them to Mukundra in Rajasthan as well. However, after the NTCA meeting, the DG of the Union Forest Ministry said that the maintenance of cheetahs in Madhya Pradesh is satisfactory. There is no need to panic over the death of cheetahs in MP. He told that the number of employees deployed for the maintenance of cheetahs in Kuno Palpur will be increased and they will be given special training. The capacity of Cheetahs will settle in 5 years. Right now in Kuno Palpur, apart from 21 cheetahs, 36 cheetahs can be accommodated including the buffer zone, but soon the shifting of cheetahs will be started.

Medicines and equipment will be manufactured in India
In the NTCA meeting held in Bhopal, there was a discussion on the medicines and equipment used for wild animals. Till now all kinds of medicines and equipment have been bought from America and other countries, but now the manufacturing of medicines and equipment used in the treatment of wild animals in India will also be promoted. So that the shortage of medicine and equipment for wild animals can be met in the neighboring countries including India.
