LHB Coach
Link Hoffman Busch i.e. LHB coaches are different from the conventional coaches of Indian Railways ICF (Integral Coach Factory). First of all, you can recognize them by their color. The dark blue colored rail coaches are ICF which were designed in Perambur, Chennai. They are being produced since 1952. The LHB coach was designed in Germany by Lichen Hoffmann Busch and is being manufactured in India since 2000. ICF coaches are made of steel whereas LHB coaches are made of stainless steel, due to which their weight is less. LHB coaches have disc brakes while ICF has air brakes. Hence LHB coaches can be stopped quickly at high speed. Talk about the speed, then the LHB coach can run up to a speed of 200 kilometers per hour. There itself. In ICF it is only 160 kmph which is the average speed of the LHB coach.
