New Delhi: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the application process for Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main-2021. Students can apply till January 16, 2021, to appear in this examination to be held at an all-India level. Now, this exam will be held four times a year. This year some other changes have also been made in the examination.

The exam pattern has been changed: NTA has made a big change in the pattern of the JEE Main 2021 exam. Now, students must compulsorily attempt 75 out of 90 questions. In the past, 25-25-25 questions have been asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Maths in this exam, but NTA has decided to give a choice in the section to bring the syllabus of various boards to one level in JEE Main paper.

There will be 30 questions in each subject, which will be divided into two sections. There will be 20 questions in section-A and 10 questions in section-B. Out of the 10 questions of section B, the candidates will have to answer any five. Alternative questions will not have negative marking.

Paper will be in many languages: So far JEE examination has been done in English, Hindi, and Gujarati language. From this year, this examination will be conducted in a total of 13 languages. These languages ​​include Hindi, English with Assamese, Gujarati, Bangla, Kannada, Marathi, Malayalam, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. However, questions will also be in the English language with all regional languages. Students will be able to choose the language of the question paper by their choice.

The students giving UPSEE will also be included: This time UPSEE (2021) will not be organized. In such a situation, students will be admitted on the basis of JEE Main 2021 score in 1.40 lakh seats in UP APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) and 750 colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh.

Know about eligibility: To give JEE Main, a student must pass 12th from a recognized board in 2019 or 2020. Students going for the 12th examination in the session of 2021 are also eligible to apply. For admission in BE / B.Tech, 12th pass with Physics and Mathematics subject and Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects for B.Arch. 12th pass with Mathematics can apply for Biplan. Students doing a three-year diploma in technical education can also apply.

Students of Birch, Biplanning will get relief: In the new changes, JEE Main 2021 application form, students can fill forms for engineering and Biplanning along with engineering. At the same time, those students who have not studied science in the 12th will also get the opportunity to fill the form but have chosen Maths as an option. The NTA has also provided separate question papers for Biarch and Biplanning.

The examination will be held in four sessions: This year JEE Main Examination will be held four times a year. It will be held from 23 to 26 February in the first session, 15 to 18 March in the second session, 27 to 30 April in the third session, and 24 to 28 May in the fourth session.

How to apply: Students can apply online from the website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The last date to apply is January 16, 2021.

Application fee: Indian students of general and other backward classes will have to pay Rs 650 as an application fee and Rs 3000 for foreign students. Women and SC / ST / Divyang and transgender category students will have to pay Rs 325 and foreign students of this category will have to pay Rs 1500.
