Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government has decided to extend the lockdown till August 6 in other urban areas, including the capital Raipur, Bilaspur and Durg, in view of rising cases of coronavirus infection in the state. Senior state officials said here on Monday that it has been decided to extend the lockdown period to ‘hotspot’ areas in the state for prevention and prevention of corona infection by now till August 6.

The District Magistrate will make a decision regarding the lockdown at the local level, keeping in mind the condition of corona infection areas in the districts. Officials said the decision was taken after a detailed discussion on the status of corona infection in the state at a high-level meeting at his residence office headed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel.

Members of the Council of Ministers were also present on the occasion. Giving information about the decisions taken in the meeting, State Agriculture Minister Ravindra Choubey said that keeping in view the prevention of corona infection is spreading rapidly in big cities like Raipur, Durg and Bilaspur, the government has extended the lockdown period to 28 It has been decided to increase it from July to six August. Instructions have been given to ensure strict adherence to the rules of lockdown in areas where infection is high.

In the high-level meeting, Choubey told senior officials of the health department to make health services more effective for the prevention and treatment of corona infections in the state, as well as increasing the number of beds for treatment of Covid-19 in hospitals, lab technicians The District Magistrates have been instructed to fulfill the ANM and health workers with the help of the District Mineral Fund Trust.

The minister said that the situation of kharif crops in the state was also discussed in detail in the high level meeting. It was also decided to release water from the reservoirs from July 28, due to the need for irrigation of Kharif crops and availability of water in the reservoirs. There has been a rapid increase in cases of corona virus infection in Chhattisgarh.

By Sunday, the number of corona virus infections in the state had risen to 7613. Of these, 2626 people are being treated, while 4944 people have been discharged from hospitals after recovering. 43 people infected with the virus have died in the state. More than five thousand cases of corona virus infection have been reported in the state during the last one month. Raipur district of the state is the most affected. There have been 2187 cases of infection of the virus in the district.

In view of the increasing case of corona virus infection in Raipur, the district administration decided to lockdown in Raipur and Birgaon Municipal Corporation area from 22nd to 28th of this month. At the same time, it has been decided to implement the lockdown at different times in Bilaspur, Korba, Ambikapur, Durg, Mungeli, Bemetra and Rajnandgaon cities of the state.
