New Delhi: Team India has to start the year 2023 with the T20 series against Sri Lanka. Even though the team is starting the new year with the shortest format of the game, the focus of the Rohit Sharma-led team is completely on ODI cricket this year. We are not saying this, but the cricket calendar of Team India is testifying to this fact. In the year 2023, the Indian team has to play a total of 18 ODIs. In 50 overs cricket, India is going to play more matches this year than any other country.

This year, the 50-over World Cup is to be played on Indian soil at the end of the year. This is the reason that the BCCI has prepared the entire schedule keeping ODIs in mind. Apart from India, the neighboring country Bangladesh is also going to play a total of 18 ODIs this year. In this format, the England team will play 15 and Australia will play 14 matches.

Kangaroo’s focus on test
Even though this year all the big countries have increased their matches in this format in view of the ODI World Cup, but the focus of the Australian team is still seen only on Test cricket. This year the Australian team is going to play a maximum of 13 test matches. After this, the second number is India and England. India will play eight Tests this year. Pakistan’s team is going to play seven and Sri Lanka-Bangladesh 5-5 test matches.

There has been no decrease in the number of matches of India in T20 also. India is going to play 17 T20 matches this year. Bangladesh will play 16 matches and England 13 in this format. The surprising thing is that according to the schedule released so far, Pakistan is going to play only eight T20 matches in 2023.
