Tokyo: Coming back from a goalless goal, the Indian men’s hockey team helped New Zealand beat New Zealand by a brilliant performance by goalkeeper PR Sreejesh. 2 and started off with a win at the Tokyo Olympics.

The Indian team, trying to win its first Olympic medal in the last four decades, performed as expected and won this Group A match.

In the match played between several video referrals, New Zealand got a penalty corner in the last minute which Sreejesh did not allow to convert. For New Zealand, penalty corner specialist Ken Russell scored in the sixth minute.

Rupinder Pal Singh scored the equalizer for India on a penalty stroke in the 10th minute. Drag-flicker Harmanpreet Singh scored in the 26th and 33rd minutes. Stephen Janis scored the second goal for New Zealand in the 43rd minute.
