Mumbai: In the early hours of Sunday, residents of Bandra were startled by the sound of gunfire. At approximately 4:55 am, two individuals on motorcycles unleashed a barrage of six shots outside the iconic Galaxy Apartments, the residence of Bollywood megastar Salman Khan. The assailants discharged their weapons into the air before hastily fleeing the scene.

The incident has since escalated with Anmol Vishnoi, identified as the brother of Lawrence Vishnoi, claiming responsibility for the attack. A social media post allegedly associated with Vishnoi is circulating rapidly online, boasting about the assault as a demonstration of power and issuing a stark warning to Khan. The post, which has not been verified, proclaims a message of peace through war against oppression and signifies the event as merely a “trailer” of their capabilities.

The ominous message continues with a declaration that this serves as the first and final admonition, implying that future attacks may target more than just an unoccupied abode. The post also dismisses any reverence for underworld figures Dawood Ibrahim and Chhota Shakeel, suggesting a disregard for their notoriety.

In the aftermath, a bullet was reportedly discovered within the confines of Khan’s residence, as stated by a Crime Branch official. Additionally, CCTV footage capturing the attackers on their motorcycles has been obtained, providing potential leads in the ongoing investigation.

Despite the gravity of the situation, Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan, remains undeterred, continuing his daily routine and dismissing the need for concern. Security measures at Galaxy Apartments have been significantly bolstered, with the family opting to remain in their longstanding home amidst rumors of relocation.

The Mumbai Police have taken swift action, forming over 15 teams dedicated to apprehending the culprits. As the investigation unfolds, the motive behind the attack—whether a dire warning or a quest for publicity—remains a subject of speculation.
