
New Delhi: In his upcoming book, lyricist, writer, and director Gulzar will tell about his interactions with veteran personalities from the world of Indian cinema, art, and literature. In this book, he will share with the readers the stories of being exposed to celebrities ranging from Satyajit Ray to RD Burman and Kishore Kumar to Pandit Bhimsen Joshi. It was announced by the publishing group Penguin Random House India on Thursday.

The group said that the name of this book is temporarily, ‘Actually… I Met Them: A Memoir’. The book will be published under ‘Hamish Hamilton Imprint’. He said that the book would give readers a chance to peek into Gulzar’s spectacles about the heartbreak of celebrities like Bimal Roy, Ritvik Ghatak, Hrishikesh Mukherjee and Mahasweti. He will share his experiences and memories of working with these people.
Gulzar said, “Memories never really fade, it goes on somewhere in the conscious and subconscious.” Sometimes it is good to experience diving there. Recall and relive some good moments. I consider myself fortunate to have been born in times of great people, and it was my privilege that I met them. Got a chance to work with some of them. Some of them were my mentors, friends and colleagues. ” The book will have rare photographs as well as chapters on filmmakers, writers, poets, musicians, singers and artists.
