Srinagar: After two bridges on the Baltal route were washed away in a landslide, the Indian Army rebuilt them overnight in record time on the intervening night of Thursday and Friday to ensure the smooth continuation of the Amarnath Yatra. The Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, assisting the civil administration for the safety and smooth conduct of the Amarnath Yatra, which began on June 30, rebuilt these bridges in record time. According to news of news agency ANI, after the sudden rise in temperature, there was a flood in the drains near Kalimata on Baltal road. These bridges were washed away due to the landslides caused by them. The civil administration had asked the Chinar Corps to restore the destroyed bridges.
After this, the Chinar Corps made every effort to build these bridges immediately. For this, helicopters, mules, and soldiers themselves carried goods. The Engineer Regiment manually mobilized resources for the bridge. After this, in a record time frame, 13 Engineer Regiment of Chinar Corps built completely new bridges overnight in spite of heavy weather and darkness. As a result, the Amarnath Yatra started smoothly.
