New Delhi: Veteran car manufacturer Jeep has launched its flagship premium car Cherokee. Exclusively for the Indian market, this is the first SUV from the American carmaker to be assembled outside North America. Buyers will get the car assembled at the company’s Indian unit. The starting price of the Grand Cherokee has been fixed at Rs 77.5 lakh.
Notably, bookings for the car are already available on the official website of Jeep India for an amount of Rs.50,000. Jeep Grand Cherokee gets Capri leather seats with a 10.1-inch screen next to the steering, LED reflector headlights, LED fog lamps, 20-inch alloy wheels, and LED tail lamps.

Apart from this, the new 5-seater SUV comes with auto folding mirrors, auto high beam headlamps, Apple Car Play and Android Auto, 9 speakers, electronic parking brake. As far as the engine details are concerned, the Grand Cherokee is only available in the market in a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbo petrol option. The engine generates 272hp power and 400Nm peak torque. The car comes with a four-wheel drive system and an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

For the safety of the passengers, the car has 8 airbags, a reverse parking camera with sensors, and a speed controller. Different colors include Bright White, Diamond Black Crystal, Rocky Mountain, and Velvet Red. Jeep is a US car manufacturer which is quite popular in the market there.
