New Delhi: Indian judo player L Sushila Devi on Monday won the silver medal in the women’s 48 kg category at the Commonwealth Games. Sushila was defeated in 4.25 minutes by South Africa’s Michaela Waitebuie in a very close match in the final. In the regular time of four minutes, both judo players were unable to score any points. White boot then won the match by collecting golden points. Sushila also won a silver medal in Glasgow Commonwealth Games 2014.
Sushila had earlier assured her medal by defeating Ippon of Mauritius in the semi-finals. She defeated Harriet Bonface of Malawi in the quarterfinals.

Vijay Kumar Yadav won a bronze medal
In the men’s 60 kg repechage, Vijay Kumar Yadav defeated Dinlan Munro of Scotland to make it to the bronze medal bout. Yadav was defeated by Joshua Kaz of Australia in the quarterfinals. Jasleen Singh Saini, on the other hand, will play for the bronze medal after losing to Finlay Allen of Scotland in the men’s 66kg semi-final. Collected points, due to which Saini had to face defeat.
Saini still has a chance to win a medal, who will play Australia’s Nathan Kaz in the bronze medal playoff. Suchika Tarial defeated South Africa’s Donne Breitenbach in the women’s 57kg repechage to reach the bronze medal bout.
